Feeding America Surveys the Food Insecure, Reports.

A pioneer in the direct-to-consumer industry, Keith Mirchandani guides Tristar Products, Inc., as president and CEO. Keith Mirchandani also supports organizations that assist the needy. His company made a significant contribution to the nonprofit Feeding America in 2021.

Supporting 200 food banks nationwide, Feeding America coordinates with 60,000 meal programs and food pantry partners to deliver food to 53 million people annually. Due to persistent food insecurity, the organization has set about defining goals that have the potential to significantly alleviate the situation by 2030

One related initiative launched in May 2022 is “Elevating Voices to End Hunger Together.” This program involves an in-depth process of connecting with families and individuals who have gone hungry or are currently experiencing food insecurity. As part of this initiative, Feeding America is arranging 100 listening sessions augmented by 100,000 conversations via text message and 10,000 questionnaires. The data collected will be issued in a report and presented at September’s White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.

Another major focus, now that the pandemic is gradually easing, is the rapidly rising inflation level. Food prices have increased about 10 percent year-on-year, and a recent survey reveals that 80 percent of food banks are experiencing either steady or increasing emergency food-service demand.
